Once you’re signed up and ready to access Unibet.tv, here’s what you can enjoy.
The Big Ones
Tennis has four major tournaments known as Grand Slams. In date order, these are the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. We can make a direct comparison with golf which has its four Majors and these events are significant for a number of reasons.
Firstly, the prestige that surrounds these tournaments means that we can expect to see all the world’s top players involved. Players will look to peak in terms of form and, if they have any injury concerns, they will rest and attempt to regain full fitness ahead of those Grand Slams.
The Grand Slam tournaments also herald our busiest times on the tennis sportsbooks. Within each event, there are five competitions - men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The event is extended across two weeks so there’s plenty of action to catch up with - both at the sportsbook and on the live stream.
As we’re about to see, tennis has more to offer but the sport demands more attention whenever one of the Grand Slams comes along.
ATP Tour
The ATP Tour is the elite level of competition for male tennis players. The four Grand Slams form an important part of the tour and, behind those events, the most important competition is the season-ending ATP Tour Finals. This is where the best performing players from across the season assemble for a hard fought singles and doubles tournament.
Along the way, there is a packed calendar of events throughout the year. Moving down into the third tier of events, the ATP Tour Masters 1000 showcases nine important competitions from March to November. Included on this particular schedule are three tournaments on mainland Europe - the Italian Open, the Paris Masters and the Madrid Open.
Ranking points earned in these events are worth more than in competitions held on the regular tour. Below this level, the men’s professional tennis tour also includes the ATP Tour 500 and the ATP Tour 250.
WTA Tour
Even if you aren’t a tennis fan you will have already guessed that the WTA Tour is the female equivalent of the ATP. The Grand Slams are also included in the main women’s professional circuit and those four events are the biggest attractions as far as players and the betting community are concerned.
The WTA Tour culminates annually with its own season-ending spectacular. The WTA Finals have been held since 1972 and it’s the time when the most successful players over the previous 12 months battle it out for one final tournament. Once again, we have a singles and a doubles competition so there’s lots to get involved with from a viewing and betting perspective.
The Grand Slams and the WTA Finals represent the first and second tiers of the Tour and then we move down to the Premier Tournaments. There are 21 of these in total and, while they are staged all over the world, many are scheduled to be held in mainland Europe. Included on the list are the Internazionali D’Italia, the Madrid Open, the Kremlin Cup and the Grass Court Championships of Berlin.
Unibet are behind the WTA Tour for the whole of the sporting year with an active set of betting markets and the support of a live streaming service that takes you right to the heart of the entertainment.
Don’t Miss the Action
Tennis provides us with a busy calendar but, with Unibet on hand, you can keep up with all of the action as it plays out. Our sportsbook carries hundreds of options for pre-match and in-play and there are active outright markets for the winner of each tournament on both main tours.
Betting on the result of any tennis match remains popular as there is a theory that there are fewer shocks than in many other sports. The favourites may come through on a more regular basis but naturally there are no guarantees. If you don’t subscribe to that particular theory you can take a look at an extensive set of prop bets. Correct score and total games attract a lot of interest and, tennis is a sport that is perfect for live props such as next set winner.
All Unibet customers can live stream the action via Unibet TV so log in to your account or complete a quick, secure and easy registration if you aren’t already with us. Once logged in, make sure that you have funds in your account or, at the very least, you should have placed a cash bet within the previous 24 hours. Comply with those simple requests and access to Unibet TV is all yours.
Viewing can be enjoyed via PC, laptop or mobile device so you have superb flexibility to back up the comprehensive streaming service.
